Biography
  • Rick Samuels is the former head men's basketball coach at Eastern Illinois University, a position he held for 25 seasons (1980-2005). During his tenure at the helm of the Panthers, Samuels led EIU to 360 victories and to two postseason appearances in the NCAA. During his exceptional career, he was recognized and honored numerous times by his peers for his achievements. A graduate of Chadron State (NE), his coaching résumé also includes stints as an assistant coach at both Iowa State and Eastern Washington.
