Biography
Paul Hewitt is the head men's basketball coach at
Georgia Tech University, a position he assumed in 2000. During his
eight seasons at the helm of the Yellow Jackets' hoop program, he has
led Tech to an average of 18 wins per season and to five post-season
appearances. Prior to his arrival in Atlanta, Hewitt posted a 66-27
mark as the head coach at Siena. Before Siena, he spent five seasons as
an assistant at Villanova. While there, he helped lead the Wildcats to
four 20-win seasons, three consecutive trips to the NCAA Tournament,
and an NIT Championship in 1994. Before that, he served as an assistant
coach at Fordham University for two years. He moved to Fordham after
spending a year under legendary coach George Raveling at Southern
California. A graduate of St. John Fisher College, Hewitt began his
coaching career on the interscholastic level, before accepting his
first collegiate-level position at C.W. Post University.
