Ball screen zone offense entry 1 This is a simple high post pick and roll entry into any zone offense. It can be used with equal success against both odd front (i.e. 1-2-2) and even -front (i.e. 2-3) zones

  • The entry begins with the high post screening the top of the zone and the point guard driving off of the screen.
  • 4 screens the player who defends the side that 1 is going towards. Against a 1-2-2 zone, 4 would screen the wing defender, not the top defender.
  • 1 drives off the screen and attacks the elbow area.
  • The wing player (2), slides to the corner ready to catch-and-shoot.
  • 4 dives to the ball-side block after setting the screen.
  • If 1 passes to the wing, 1 slides back out to the perimeter and weak side post player (5) flashes to the high post.
