Post Alert Basketball Drill
Purpose: To develop post players’ reaction time and hands:

Organization:  6 players and 2 balls required.  Two post
players stand on either elbow, each with a ball:  2 passers stand
approximately 5 feet apart at either wing.

Procedure:

1.  Each post player passes to one of the wing players on standing
on his side fo the floor

2.  After passing, each post player crosses the lane, receives a
pass from 1 wing and quickly passes to the other wing.

3.  Movement continues in this manner until both post players
have received 10 passes.

4.  On the 10th pass, each post player drop-pivots and drives to
the basket for a layup, ending the circuit.

Coaching Points:

1.  Determine ahead of time which where each post player should go
(top or bottom) when making the cut.

2.  Passes should be quick and movement should be constant.

3.  On the drop-pivot and drive,  post players should take one
hard  dribble and elevate for the layup.
